Are you heading over to Wells-Next-The-Sea over the summer holidays? If so, you’re probably wondering what there is to do with your kids. To help get you inspired for a summer of fun and excitement, we’ve put together a list of the top 5 things to do with your little ones here in Wells. From crabbing in the shallows to crazy golf beside the sea – there’s so much to do, you won’t know where to begin.

Spend a day at the beach

Wells is home to a number of beautiful, sandy beaches that make for the perfect location for a family day out. From building sand castles and splashing around in the water, to flying kites and digging into a yummy picnic of fish and chips – it’s a place that can be enjoyed by the whole family – even your pooch!

Go seal watching

We’re extremely lucky to be the home of many fascinating animals, including the seals who rest on the rocky islands that surround our shores. A great way to see the seals up close is with a boat trip to Blakeney Point, which provides your family with the opportunity to see the seals without disturbing them. The trip departs from either Blakeney harbour or Morston quay, so make sure you stop by beforehand to book on the best tour for you and your kids.

Have a whale of a time at Wells Beach Leisure

Stuck for things to do? Then head down to Wells Beach Leisure, which is situated right on the Norfolk coast and offers a fantastic play area for the kids during the sunny summer holidays. Get your kids bouncing for hours on the trampolines, or enjoy a family game of crazy golf before taking to the water in a canoe. Plus, after a busy afternoon of fun you can enjoy a walk along the beach with some fish and chips – perfect!

Be at one with nature at Holkham Hall Woodland Play Area

If you fancy a day away from the seaside, be sure to pay Holkham Hall Woodland Play Area a visit. Surrounded by towering trees, your kids can explore treehouses, dare to climb rope ladders and zoom along zip-wires. If your children aren’t quite old enough for these activities, the park also has a sand pit, swing set and ground play area – meaning even your youngest kids can have a blast.

Go crabbing!

In Wells, nothing beats a morning spent crabbing in the quay. Crabbing is a quick, easy and really cheap activity to do with your kids whilst you’re in town. All you have to do is buy a crabbing kit from our neighbour, Shop With a View, and head over to a large area of water where you can launch your bait and wait for the bite. On top of crabs, you can look forward to catching little fish and other small crustaceans.

Ready to have fun?

We hope this has inspired you and your family during your trip to Wells this summer. And remember, if you’re feeling peckish after all of that fun be sure to stop by our brand new restaurant, The Fryer’s Bounty, which will be opening in August!
