The Explorer’s Treasure Hunt

Buy a kid’s meal at Platten’s Fish & Chips and collect your Explorer’s treasure hunt sheet. This will take you on a trail around Wells’ looking for photos with signs that spell out our name ‘Platten’s’. 

Once you’ve completed the sheet and found all the signs, collect your prize from Shop With A View. It’s a great activity that gets all the family involved!

Go crazy for crabbing

Have you ever tried crabbing before? It’s a really popular activity to do here in the morning in Wells’. To get started you’ll need crab buckets, drop nets, crab lines and bait – all of which you can buy from Shop With A View.

Sit on the quayside together, launch your bait and wait for the bite. If you buy your crab bucket from Shop With A View, you can also get a part refund if you return it in perfect condition! 

Let’s go to the beach

Wells is home to a number of beautiful, sandy beaches that make for the perfect location for a family day out. Soak up the sea air, build a sand castle or enjoy a paddle in the shallows on our beautiful beach here at Wells-next-the-Sea. 

Pack a kite or your binoculars and spend a day with the whole family – including your pooch – making memories together in the Norfolk sunshine.

Take a ride on the light railway

All aboard the ‘Norfolk Hero’ and ‘Norfolk Heroine’ for a journey on the longest 10 ¼” narrow gauge steam railway in the world. A great adventure for young and old, enjoy a 30 minute train ride from Wells-next-the-Sea to Walsingham.
